READOUT: Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent’s Meeting with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Minister of Finance Yassine Jaber

WASHINGTON – Today, Secretary of the Treasury Scott Bessent met with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and Minister of Finance Yassine Jaber.

The Secretary urged the Lebanese government to take proactive steps to disrupt Iranian and Hizballah financial networks. 

Secretary Bessent also noted the importance of Lebanon advancing key financial sector reforms to restore confidence in Lebanon’s banking system.
