Lebanon, Pakistan Army Chiefs Hold Talks on Security Cooperation

(MENAFN) Lebanese Army Commander Gen. Rodolphe Haykal and Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir held talks on regional developments, defense coordination, and broader security issues during Haykal’s three-day visit to Pakistan, according to the Lebanese army.

Reports said the visit took place at the invitation of the Pakistani military leadership and began with an official reception at the General Headquarters of the Pakistan Army, where a joint honor guard representing the country’s land, naval, and air forces was presented.

The statement noted that both sides “discussed developments in the region and issues of mutual interest, particularly security and defense matters.”

Munir emphasized the longstanding relationship between Pakistan and Lebanon, while Haykal praised the professionalism of the Pakistani military, highlighting its contribution to regional stability and its role in international peacekeeping operations.

According to the statement, senior officers from both countries also participated in wider discussions focused on enhancing military cooperation, especially in training programs, as well as exploring ways to support the Lebanese armed forces amid ongoing challenges.
