Iran Threatens Retaliation After Deadly Israeli Strike in Beirut
Ebrahim Rezaei, spokesperson for the Iranian parliament’s National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, issued the warning on Sunday in a message posted on social media shortly after the attack.
“We will deliver a decisive and painful response to the Zionist regime's attack on Dahiyeh,” he wrote.
Escalating his rhetoric, Rezaei added: “These rabid dogs must be disciplined and put back in their place.”
He also appeared to suggest the possibility of imminent military action, stating: “Look at the skies over the occupied lands tonight.”
The remarks followed an Israeli strike on Beirut’s southern suburb, an area widely regarded as a stronghold of Hezbollah. According to reports, the attack resulted in at least two fatalities and injured 11 others.
The latest exchange of threats comes amid continued regional tensions and growing concerns over the potential for further escalation between Israel and forces aligned with Iran.
