Lebanese Army Moves into Tyre Christian Quarter After Israeli Warning
According to reports, an Israeli military spokesperson stated that forces had detected what was described as Hezbollah operations within the neighborhood and cautioned that evacuation orders might be issued should such activity persist.
The announcement followed earlier Israeli evacuation notices directed at other sections of Tyre, where Israel alleged violations of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah.
As stated by reports, Lebanese army patrols entered the district and began carrying out precautionary and security-related procedures. No additional details regarding the measures were disclosed.
According to reports, Tyre's mayor, Hassan Dbouk, visited the area together with municipal official Walid al-Tawil, Father Marius Khairallah, and Lebanese army intelligence officer Col. Mohammad Hazer.
Reports indicated that the group met with local residents in an effort to ease concerns and provide reassurance after the Israeli warning was issued.
