Israeli Strikes on Southern Lebanon Kill Two Hezbollah Members
The Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), the country's official news service, documented an Israeli unmanned aircraft firing three precision missiles at a vehicle in Al-Doueir town. The attack left one dead and seven wounded.
A second hostile drone strike targeted a motorcycle rider in the Abu Laban neighborhood within Aita al-Shaab village, the NNA reported.
Lebanon's Ministry of Public Health Emergency Operations Center issued a statement confirming one civilian fatality from the Aita al-Shaab bombardment.
An intelligence officer with the Lebanese Army provided exclusive details to media, identifying the casualties: "the person killed in the Al-Doueir strike was a Hezbollah member named Mohammad Hadid, and the person killed in the Aita al-Shaab strike was also a Hezbollah member named Youssef Naameh Srour."
A United States and France-brokered ceasefire between Hezbollah and Israel took effect November 27, 2024, substantially halting hostilities that ignited during the Gaza Strip conflict.
However, Israeli military forces continue sporadic strikes within Lebanese territory despite the truce, asserting operations target Hezbollah "threats." Israel maintains troop deployments at five strategic positions along the Lebanese frontier.
