Israel attacks southern Lebanon, killing one person, harming others
The state-run news agency stated that the 10 airstrikes hit six bulldozers on the Al-Msayleh road, destroying and burning numerous vehicles. Among the casualties, one was a Syrian national, while the injured included another Syrian and six Lebanese citizens, including two women. Significant damage forced the closure of Al-Msayleh road, according to Al-Manar.
Israeli drones were also reported over Beirut and southern suburbs from early Saturday. The Israeli army claimed on X that it struck Hezbollah infrastructure, including engineering equipment used to rebuild facilities in southern Lebanon.
The strike comes despite a ceasefire reached in November 2024 after a year-long conflict between Hezbollah and Israel that left over 4,000 dead and 17,000 injured. Under the truce, Israel was to fully withdraw by January 2025 but has maintained a presence at five border outposts.
